“I had to leave Christianity to find Jesus.” — Sami Awad
The Sacred Awakening: Reclaiming Christ Conciseness
About Sacred Awakening
Rediscover the path that emerged when Sami Awad could no longer ignore the distance between inherited faith, structured in separation, and fear and lived truth.
Sacred Awakening grew out of Sami’s personal journey through Christianity, doubt, activism, healing, and transformation. Raised in a Palestinian Christian family within the evangelical tradition, he was deeply shaped by the teachings of Jesus, a commitment to justice, and the witness of his grandmother Huda, who chose peace and reconciliation after the violence and loss of the Nakba. Living under occupation and engaging the realities of injustice, conflict, and collective trauma, Sami’s spiritual journey could never be separated from questions of liberation, dignity, and how people live together in truth.
Over time, he began to experience a growing tension between the Jesus he encountered in the Gospels and the Jesus often presented through institutional religion. In scripture, he found someone compassionate, disruptive, free, and radically loving. But too often, religion had turned that living message into doctrine, fear, exclusion, and control. At the same time, activism on its own did not fully answer the deeper inner and spiritual questions he was carrying. Stepping away from inherited Christianity was not, for him, a rejection of Jesus. It was part of a deeper search to find him beyond the systems that had confined him.
Out of that journey, Sacred Awakening was born.
Sacred Awakening is not about religious dogma or institutional belief. It is an invitation into a deeper consciousness rooted in love, truth, compassion, justice, and transformation. It is about awakening to the forces that shape how we see, think, listen, react, and live, and beginning the work of healing the divisions within us while challenging the systems of domination around us.
Through the book, teachings, retreats, pilgrimages, and global conversations, Sami invites others into this journey: not to adopt a new religion, but to reclaim the sacred as something lived, embodied, and capable of transforming both self and world.
More than a book
Sacred Awakening is a transformational global movement dedicated to awakening individuals and communities into a higher consciousness rooted in love, unity, justice, compassion, and deep spiritual awareness, what we call Christ Consciousness.
This is not about religious dogma or institutional belief. It is about rediscovering the living spiritual consciousness that Jesus embodied: a consciousness that challenges systems of domination, heals the divisions within us, and calls humanity toward a new way of living.
At the heart of this movement is the book “Sacred Awakening: Reclaiming Christ’s Consciousness.”
The book serves as both an invitation and a guide — helping readers recognize how systems of violence, fear, and separation shape our world and how transformation begins within each of us.
Sacred Awakening exists because humanity stands at a crossroads. Our world is marked by injustice, conflict, ecological crisis, and deep spiritual confusion. The answer is not simply political reform or spiritual escape. It is a profound awakening of consciousness that transforms both individuals’ inner lives and the structures of society.
Through the book, teachings, retreats, and global conversations, Sacred Awakening invites people everywhere to begin this journey.
it is the foundation of a movement.
In its pages, readers are invited to rediscover the radical teachings of Jesus beyond the filters of power, empire, and religious institutions. The book explores how the message of love, compassion, justice, and spiritual transformation has the power to reshape our lives and our world.
Drawing on spiritual insight, social awareness, and lived experience, the book guides readers through an inner journey of awakening , confronting fear, domination, and separation within ourselves and within our systems.
For many readers, Sacred Awakening becomes a turning point. It offers language for what they have long sensed: that true spirituality must lead to transformation, responsibility, and courageous love in the world.
This is why the book is not simply meant to be read , it is meant to be lived.
